MCDC Micro-Loan & Business Support Program

Do you have a dream of starting your own business? You do not have to be a millionaire, or have perfect credit to make your dream a reality. The Midland Community Development Corporation can help.

The Midland Community Development Corporation (MCDC) is a federally certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) that provides loans to small business owners who may not qualify for traditional bank loans, along with application stage and post-disbursement training and support.

MCDC established the Revolving Loan Fund to help small business owners put their ideas in motion. The purpose of the MCDC Revolving Loan Fund is to finance growth and expansion of micro-businesses, and to support small business ventures that will create employment opportunities in the low-and moderate-income areas of Midland, which will result in more economic development and diversification of the economy, as well as neighborhood revitalization.

Apply for a Loan

Applicants must submit a business plan to apply for a business loan. Once you have submitted a complete application to us, the MCDC Loan Committee will review your application. The Committee makes decisions to fund or decline loan requests, based on our general requirements, including credit worthiness, job creation, experience and knowledge of the industry, the desire to develop business in the MCDC investment area, etc.

  •  If we are unable to help you, we will direct you to other resources.

If you would like to discuss your project with us to see if it meets our general requirements, please contact David Diaz, MCDC Executive Director.

The MCDC works in tandem with other community development organizations to enhance borrowers profitability and their capacity to manage and track financial performance.  Borrowers are provided with needed technical assistance such as tutorials with their business financial software, inventory control, marketing, cash management, basic computer skills training, etc.
